My name is Milica , I am 22 years old and I am a third-year student of European Languages and Cultures at the University of Groningen. I speak English at a C1/C2 level, French at C1, Serbian as my native language and I'm learning Dutch currently at a B1 level. Languages were always my passion, although I always had many hobbies. I like to read, write poetry, translate literature, do arts and crafts, dance, figure skate, and i also try to be involved with local community organizing. Sharing my love of learning in all these areas is the reason why I feel drawn to tutoring - I believe learning should be a decentralized community effort, and we can all co-create knowledge and help each-other learn. I'm an outgoing and friendly person; I'm driven by an endless curiosity and love of new experiences, and I try my best to always be organized and disciplined, both as a student and as a teacher :)
I enjoy tutoring because I like helping people learn. It comes naturally to me - in a way I've always done it. I tutored my younger sister throughout her schooling, I was always the friend who helps everyone with homework and exam preparation, and gradually people started recommending me to their friends and cousins. I've tutored people in English, Latin, Serbian, Literature, Sociology, History and Geography so far at elementary and highschool level. Most rewarding experiences for me were tutoring a friend who has ADHD and was struggling with Latin, whom I helped to pass the final exam, and last year when I got the chance to help a Palestinian refugee by giving him English lessons. I'm a friendly and patient person which I think makes me a good fit for a tutor, and I found that a positive attitude, giving encouragement and being understanding really makes all the difference in students' outcomes.
