My name is Valerian and I recently graduated with a Bachelor in Chemistry at TU/e. I enjoy interacting with people and finding common ground in order to achieve a goal together. Outside of academics I love dancing, debating and cooking. Dancing is how I express creativity, debating keeps me sharp in communication and cooking gives me patience. These are the same qualities I bring into my lessons.
I have been tutoring since high school, starting with helping classmates prepare for chemistry Olympiads. Later I worked as a private tutor, a calculus tutor and a lab assistant at the Technical University of Eindhoven. Through this experience I discovered how much I enjoy guiding students, whether it is explaining theory, helping with practice or giving structure so they feel more confident. I value the peer-to-peer dynamic where asking questions is not a weakness but the starting point of real understanding. From my experience, many students feel demotivated because they do not understand and think they are not capable, while in reality each student has their own strengths. My role is to find those strengths and build on them in a way that fits how they learn, so they can move forward with more confidence. Lessons are in English only.
